Civil War Reenactment returns to Jefferson, Texas for 25th year

JEFFERSON, Texas (KTAL/KMSS) — This May, celebrate American history with a Civil War Reenactment in Jefferson, Texas.

The 25th annual “Battle for Jefferson” event is put on by the Historic Jefferson Foundation, a fully volunteer committee, and takes place over the course of three days.

The first reenactment takes place on Saturday, May 3rd at 4pm. The second reenactment takes place on Sunday, May 4th at 1:30pm.

The are other events taking place during the three-day weekend that starts on Friday, May 2nd including Student Living History, a Ladies’ tea, and a presentation of colors.

It will take place throughout historic downtown Jefferson and Cypress River Ranch.

Tickets for the reenactment are $20, and can be purchased in advance on their website or by calling 903-733-1035.
