According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, the crash involved a semi truck and a passenger vehicle. INDOT also confirmed someone was trapped inside one of the vehicles.
The Pike Township Fire Department posted photos of the aftermath. The images showed a car sandwiched between a pair of semi trucks.

Around 9:50 a.m., the left lane for I-65 southbound reopened and the right two lanes were closed.
