Two days, three drug related arrests made in St. Tammany Parish

ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Three arrests have been made within two days following drug related investigations in St. Tammany Parish.

Deputies with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that on Feb. 11, they observed 30-year-old Henry Leymon Gaines allegedly commit multiple traffic violations while driving in Mandeville and pulled him over.

A search of Gaines’ vehicle with a US Border Patrol K-9, led to the alleged finding of one-half pound of methamphetamine. The STPSO Narcotics Unit was alerted, and Gaines was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on charges of:

  • Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (methamphetamine)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Improper lane use
  • Failure to signal

The next day, Feb. 12, Narcotics Unit agents executed a search warrant at the Pinehazel Drive home of 49-year-old Gary “Skip” Armond Jr. and 50-year-old Paula Jacobson. This led to the alleged discovery of:

  • Over a pound of methamphetamine
  • 84 Gabapentin pills
  • 4 Alprazolam pills
  • 21.5 Hydrocodone pills
  • 2 Clonazepam pills
  • assorted drug paraphernalia
  • six firearms
  • $7,793

The two were arrested and booked into the St, Tammany Parish Correctional Center on charges of:

  • Possession with the Intent to distribute a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine)
  • Possession with the intent to distribute a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance (hydrocodone)
  • Two counts of possession with the intent to Distribute a Schedule IV controlled dangerous substance (alprazolam and clonazepam)
  • Possession of a firearm in the presence of an unlawfully possessed controlled dangerous substance
  • Transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses and possession of drug paraphernalia

“The detectives in our Narcotics Division will continue to work proactively to identify and arrest those individuals who are buying and selling illegal narcotics in our neighborhood, but if you suspect someone of selling drugs in our parish, please let us know,” said Sheriff Randy Smith.
