
David A. Cherry, 28, was arrested Tuesday by police in southern Indiana after he allegedly posted life-threatening statements on the billionaire businessman-turned-politico‘s social media site.
Cherry, a Palmyra resident, was officially charged with one count of felony intimidation.
Indiana State Police officials were contacted early Tuesday morning by Texas law enforcement regarding an X user they said lived in southern Indiana.
Texas authorities claimed Cherry had posted threats directed toward Musk on X earlier this month, but did not provide further details.
Acting on this information, ISP detectives began investigating and found Cherry to be in Clarksville. After taking him into custody, police reportedly searched Cherry’s home in Palmyra and found the following:
- An AR-15-style rifle
- A handgun
- Ammunition
- A ballistic vest
Cherry was then taken to the Harrison County Jail where he was booked on one count of Intimidation – a Level 5 Felony. He is currently being held without bond.
