Emergency crews track ‘runaway marina’ debris traveling through Jessamine, Garrard County riverfront

JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — On Tuesday, multiple emergency management crews worked to track debris and watercraft from a runaway marina carried down the Kentucky River through Jessamine County and Garrard County, making sure it was cleared from the area.

On Tuesday night, Jessamine County Emergency Management

(JCEM) posted on Facebook that with the help of nearby river communities, crews were able to track parts of the marina as it traveled through the area.

Crews wrote that some crafts had gotten stuck on the Garrard County side of Camp Nelson and said the owner had been able to recover at least one of them on his own.

Emergency management team members said they believe that all parts of the marina have cleared Jessamine County.

JCEM wrote on Facebook that crew members were told the debris allegedly originated from Old Habits Marina near Boonesborough.
