The nominations are being taken through an online form and must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Monday, April 14. The nominees will be evaluated based on a number of factors, including years of service and attendance.
There are more than 700 crossing guards who help Chicago Public Schools students get to and from school.
“Crossing Guards play a vital role as part of our school support staff,” said CPS CEO Pedro Martinez. “We recognize and thank Crossing Guards this month and throughout the year for their hard work and for serving as safety role models for our students.”
