CHICAGO — Chicago Fire Department personnel battled an apartment fire early Wednesday morning in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the city’s South Side.
According to CFD, the fire happened at an apartment building undergoing rehab in the 6600 block of South Woodlawn Avenue. The fire was in the rear of the building, in units that were not occupied.
CFD says nobody was injured in the fire and tenants on the occupied side of the building all had places to go.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
