Abilene man accused of uploading child porn to Facebook messenger

William Beard was booked into the Taylor County Jail for Possession of Child Pornography in connection to the allegations.

Court documents state the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children contacted Abilene police in July 2023 after learning an IP address traced to a motel in Abilene had uploaded a video of child pornography to Facebook messenger.

The documents state a front desk employee was able to identify Beard as the individual pictured on the Facebook account, and a subsequent search and seizure allowed them to find more videos of child pornography on Beard’s phone.

They also learned Beard had taken a video of an underage family member in her underwear while she was sleeping, according to the documents.

Beard is now being held in the Taylor County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
