On Feb. 15, around 7 p.m., authorities were called to the 1500 block of Seminary Street for reports of a fight that led to a stabbing. Multiple people were screaming and arriving at the scene when officers arrived.
Rowell told officials she started arguing with her neighbor because one of her friends was using the woman’s parking spot. The suspect claimed the victim initiated the fight, police reported.
A witness provided authorities with a video of the incident. The video showed Rowell pulling the woman down to the ground by her hair and getting on top of her, according to court records.
Jones then started to punch the victim multiple times, officers reported. Police also said they saw a knife thrown at the woman.
The knife was found on the scene.
The woman had a stab wound to her hand and was taken to UW Health Swedish American Hospital for her injuries. The victim told authorities Rowell was the suspect who stabbed her.
Jones is charged with mob action, while Rowell is charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, aggravated battery while using a deadly weapon and mob action.
Both suspects were granted pretrial release.
