PRICE, Utah (ABC4) — Three people were injured in an apparent domestic violence-related shooting in Price on Monday, according to officials.
The Price City Police Department said the shooting occurred around 6:20 p.m. on Feb. 17, when a woman was reportedly confronted by an ex-boyfriend near Carbon Avenue and Main Street. Officials said the man fired multiple rounds at the woman as she ran toward a pharmacy.
“The female was hit at least one time and was transported to the hospital and is being treated for serious injuries,” police said in a press release. “The male was located in a vehicle with what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”
The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition. A third person was injured while fleeing the area, and received non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
The police department acknowledged people in the area who helped the woman as she was fleeing. Officials also expressed gratitude to surrounding agencies for their assistance.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing. No further information was released.
