Woman dead after house fire in Aiken County

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – A woman is dead after a house fire Sunday afternoon in Aiken County.

On February 16th at 2:42 p.m., the Aiken County Coroner’s Office responded to a residential fire involving a fatality on the 100 block of Hidden Springs Road in Jackson.

A female victim was pronounced deceased on the scene at 3:45 p.m. and will be autopsied in Newberry to determine the cause of death and aid in positive identification due to thermal injuries.

The Coroner’s Office along with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Officer are continuing with the investigation.
