Pennsylvania AG discusses Shapiro/Trump lawsuit on This Week in Pennsylvania

(WHTM) — Last week, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro (D) sued the Trump administration after about $2 billion in federal funds was frozen. Many asked why Shapiro, a former Attorney General, was leading the charge and not the newly elected Attorney General Dave Sunday (R).

Sunday joined This Week in Pennsylvania to discuss the issue and other priorities after his first month in office.

“Oftentimes, the greatest results come through negotiation and not through just filing a lawsuit and that’s very important for people to understand,” Sunday said. “As Attorney General, what you will not see out of me is an incident happens, and then the very next day I file a lawsuit solely—and I’m not saying that’s the case here—but to get a media hit, and those lawsuits may not even turn into actual positive outcomes for anyone.”

House Republican Chair of the Appropriations Committee Representative Jim Struzzi and Democrat Appropriations Chair Jordan Harris also joined the show to discuss the governor’s recent budget address.

Every week, This Week in Pennsylvania gives a comprehensive look at the week’s biggest news events in Pennsylvania, provided by the abc27 News team, along with the latest updates on local stories.
