Chicago police said just before 7:45 p.m., a 26-year-old woman was driving southbound in the 800 block of South Lake Shore Drive when she veered off the road and landed in Lake Michigan.
The woman got out of the vehicle and made her way back to shore while her vehicle, a blue sedan, remains partially submerged in the lake, according to investigators.
Police said the woman was not injured, but was taken to Northwestern Hospital as a precaution.
Police added citations are pending.
