Woman identified after fatal fire in Schuylkill County

POTTSVILLE, Pa. (WBRE/WYOU) — A woman died in an apartment fire Friday night in Schuylkill County.

According to Schuylkill County Coroner David Moylan, 80-year-old Gail Babcock died after a fire at her apartment on the 1100 block of West Arch Street in the city.

Officials say that crews were called to the scene around 9:00 p.m. for a reported structure fire.

It is unknown at this time if there were any other apartments damaged.

It is also unknown if there were any other injuries.

A State Police fire marshal is investigating.
