Man accused of New Jersey homicide arrested in Fresno, officials say
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man was arrested in Fresno in connection with the homicide of a veterinarian in New Jersey, according to the Office of the Camden County Prosecutor.

According to officials, Cristian Custodio-Aquino, 27, of Portland Oregon, was charged with first-degree murder on Feb. 7 for the death of Dr. Michael Anthony, 45, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Custodio-Aquino was arrested in Fresno on Feb. 11.

The Cherry Hill Police Department says they responded to the 100 block of Sharrowvalle Road in Cherry Hill on Dec. 10, 2024. On scene, they located Anthony, unconscious and determined he had sustained multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Officials say detectives conducted an exhaustive investigation and identified Custodio-Aquino as the suspect in this case. The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office says the suspect, who is originally from Peru, was taken into custody by a Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy assigned to the U.S. Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force. He is pending extradition back to New Jersey.
