Experts from the American Parkinson Disease Association of Illinois spoke during the informational session.
meeting attendees learned more about the seriousness of Parkinson’s, the benefits of physical therapy and proven programs through exercises that can increase mobility and independence.
Physical Therapist Devin McCulloch explained how important the session is for those who care for people with Parkinson’s.
“I think having that village is so important for people, one because the more you feel comfortable with the people you’re reaching out to, the more likely you are to reach out to them,” said McCulloch. “Whether that’s someone else that is struggling with the disease or even your neurologist.”
McCulloch went on to say it is important, as a family member, to be supportive of those living with the disease every step of the way.
