The courts are part of the Futsal Court Development Project, which officials say included a Musco dual mini-pitch system with two lighted courts and SnapSports sports flooring.
Calwa officials say both courts will provide for a “5-a-side” play, which has become the “standard” in youth soccer development. Additionally, these courts will provide for year-round soccer play for the youth and community.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the project will be held on Feb. 22 at 9 a.m. at 4545 E. Church Ave. According to organizers, the ceremony includes speakers, exhibition games and more.
This project is funded through Prop 68 State Water and Park Bond of 2018, U.S. Soccer Foundation and District capital reserves, officials say.
