WEBER COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — A fatal crash on southbound I-15 in Weber County has brought traffic to a standstill and closed the on-ramp to eastbound I-84 on Friday morning, Feb. 14.

Lt. Cameron Roden with the Utah Highway Patrol told ABC4.com the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. A box truck had reportedly broken down and came to a stop in the gore area between I-15 and the I-84 on-ramp when a Mini Cooper lost control.

The crash heavily impacted traffic, closing the on-ramp to I-84. Lt. Roden said the ramp is expected to be closed until about 10 a.m.

Traffic along southbound I-15 has also been brought to a near standstill with congestion backing up for nearly two miles, past 31st Street in Ogden.

Alternate routes around the crash include using Riverdale Road to I-84 or I-15.

This is a developing story. ABC4 will update this post as new information becomes available.
