NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Love is in the air in New Orleans!
Valentine’s Day is on the way, and you might still be looking for a spot to treat your date.
As you get ready to make those last-minute plans or reservations, restaurants in the area are offering special Valentine’s Day menus, drinks and desserts.
Osteria Lupo is serving up a family-style tasting menu with some of the offerings including burrata con panna, marinated mushrooms, wood-fired oysters, spaghetti alla chittara, Gulf fish and grilled hanger steak. For more information, visit the Osteria Lupo website.
Compère Lapin is offering a selection of a la carte specials for Valentine’s Day, including a seafood plateaux with chilled oysters, chili vinaigrette, marinated crab fingers, and hamachi tartare; a lobster raviolo with coconut chili broth and soft herbs; and Soursop Semifreddo with strawberry and Champagne jus. BABs is offering a few a la carte Valentine’s Day specials including broiled oysters with Calibrian chili and garlic crumbs; crawfish fra diavolo with ricotta gnocchi; and torta caprese with Nutella ice cream. For more information, visit the BABs website.
This Prytania Street spot is offering a four-course tasting menu for Valentine’s Day. According to a news release, some items on the menu will include Boquerones with griddled sourdough and green olive tapenade; charred romaine with vegetables, toasted almonds and buttermilk dressing; and a 24-ounce boneless ribeye a la plancha with charred onion and salsa verde. Ralph’s on the Park is offering a three-course Valentine’s Day dinner menu from Feb. 13 through Feb. 16. A news release states that some items featured on the menu will include wild Louisiana oysters made with a pomegranate mignonette and Cajun caviar; grilled beef tenderloin made with crawfish-cognac cream, served with a horseradish potato puree and haricots verts. At Superior Seafood, the restaurant is embracing the overlap between Valentine’s Day and the Mardi Gras season with a “Muse’s Kiss” cocktail that features muddled strawberries, vodka, lychee liqueur and red shoe ice cubes, in addition to a festive cocktail, a His & Hers dish including a 14-ounce strip steak and butter-kissed diver scallops. Couvant at the Eliza Jane is offering a three-course prix-fixe dinner that will include a choice of beet salad, Huîtres Frites, Tuna Tartare, Hûitres Frites, or Truffled Butternut Squash Velouté as a starter; Saumon Roti, Gulf Fish Chaudrée, Prime Rib or Canard à l’orange as an entree; and a choice of Crème brûlée or Mousse au Chocolat.
