Second arrest made in case involving damaged traffic signs, flyer distribution in Louisiana

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A second arrest has been made in connection with the defacement of traffic signs and the distribution of flyers in plastic bags across multiple jurisdictions.

David Hart, 45, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in Plaquemines Parish and charged with criminal damage to property by defacing with graffiti. Authorities say additional charges may be filed in other jurisdictions.

Hart’s arrest follows the arrest of Robert Hebert II, 42, who was also charged with criminal damage to property.

Authorities investigating flyer distribution

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office (LPSO) said the case involves dozens of Ziplock bags containing flyers and corn kernels left in driveways, along with damaged signs in Walker.

According to Sheriff Jason Ard, the flyers contained crime statistics and content aimed at specific groups of people.

Authorities say the case remains under investigation, and more details may be released as the case progresses.
