“Shreveport-Bossier is proud to host the 2025 State Wrestling Tournament,” said Sara Nelms, Director of Sports for the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission with Visit Shreveport-Bossier. “We are excited to welcome this event back for another year at the Brookshire Grocery Arena, and we are especially honored to host the inaugural girls’ division.”
The tournament is on Friday, February 14, and Saturday, February 15, at the BGA and will showcase the skills of about 1,200 participating student-athletes and 250 coaches from across the state. The addition of the Girls’ Division 1 tournament highlights the growth of female wrestlers. The weekend event is expected to provide an economic infusion for local hotels, restaurants, and other entertainment and service providers in the area.
“The LHSAA is thrilled to be back in Shreveport-Bossier for another State Wrestling Tournament,” said Adam D. MacDowell, Assistant Executive Director of the LHSAA. “This year is particularly special as we host the inaugural state girls’ division, marking a historic moment for wrestling in Louisiana. We have an incredible group of student-athletes ready to compete at the highest level, and we encourage everyone to come out, show their support, and be part of the action.”
