New Scholarship looks to support technical trainees in Boone Co.

Belvidere business owner, craftsman and investor Ed Marx created the Dudley Trust Scholarship Fund to help those in the area who are looking to get into the technical and vocational workforce.

“Providing the community with access to high-quality training and education is vital for its continued growth,” said Marx. “I’m proud to be able to support students and adults in our area who are eager to build a better future for themselves and contribute to the growth of our local industries.”

There are two different opportunities offered through the scholarship:

• The Dudley Trust High School Scholarship — This scholarship is available to seniors graduating in Boone County from Districts 100 and 200. The scholarship will be awarded through each high school’s scholarship process.
• The Dudley Trust Community Scholarship — This scholarship is available to adults who live in Boone County or are graduates of Districts 100 and 200.

People who qualify can apply at Boone County’s Community Foundation website.

The deadline to apply for these scholarships is March 1st.
