According to Chicago police, 20-year-old Tamyra Anderson, a North Lawndale resident, has been charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of strong probability of death or injury.
The charges stem from Anderson’s alleged role in the death of a 5-month-old boy on Nov. 21, 2024.
Authorities said the child was found unresponsive in the same area where Anderson lives and later died from his injuries.
Authorities have not said if Anderson is related to the victim.
Anderson was taken into custody near her home on Thursday. She is set to appear in court on Saturday.
