SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – After an in-depth investigation, which Shreveport police say uncovered potential neglect, health risks, and a dead animal, officers arrested a woman for cruelty to the infirm and cruelty to animals. They arrested Miranda McGee just after 2:00 p.m. on February 7, 2025.
It started on January 3, 2025, when officers addressed a welfare concern involving an elderly woman living at 706 Len Court. Investigators said they discovered several hazards at the home, including animal feces, termite infestations, and other conditions posing serious health risks.
When officers returned on February 7th, they said there were three dogs in distress, and a fourth dog was found deceased in a ‘foul-smelling, feces-ridden back bedroom.’ That’s when they arrested McGee.
“This case underscores the Shreveport Police Department’s commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals and ensuring the welfare of all members of our community, including animals,” said Corporal Chris Bordelon.
