CHICAGO — Two people were hospitalized with critical injuries overnight after a shooting at a North Side apartment.

Chicago police said the incident unfolded just before 11 p.m. in the 5800 block of North Kenmore Avenue in Edgewater.

Officers said the man had been shot in the chest and the woman was shot in the chin. Both were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Authorities said a firearm was later recovered on the scene

Currently, it is unclear what led to the shooting and officers said an investigation is currently underway.
