14-year-old girl faces felony charges for armed carjacking, kidnapping in Chicago
CHICAGO — A 14-year-old girl faces felony charges after allegedly carjacking a 29-year-old woman at gunpoint and holding her against her will, according to Chicago police. 

Authorities say the juvenile was taken into custody just after 2:50 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, in the 400 block of E. 35th Street. CPD says the alleged carjacking occurred less than 90 minutes earlier in the 400 block of W. Harrison St. 

As a result of the alleged incident, the 14-year-old faces charges of:

  • Vehicular Hijacking – Aggravated – Firearm
  • Aggravated Kidnapping/Armed
  • Receive/Possess/Sell Stolen Vehicle

In an update Wednesday night, CPD announced charges against a second individual, an 18-year-old male, regarding the alleged carjacking and kidnapping.

Taylen Byndum, 18, of Bolingbrook, also faces felony counts of armed carjacking in addition to separate kidnapping charges.

Byndum is due in court on Thursday.
