State Police looking for driver who killed Beauregard Parish teen in hit-and-run

RAGLEY, La. (KLFY) — State Police are asking for the public’s help in solving a hit-and-run that killed a Beauregard Parish teenager on Sunday.

The crash claimed the life of Jodie Cannon, 17, of Longville.

Louisiana State Police Troop D began investigating a hit-and-run crash Sunday morning involving a pedestrian on U.S. 171 near A.D. Hodges Road. Investigators said Cannon was in the right southbound lane of U.S. 171 when he was hit by a vehicle.

After the collision, the driver drove away. Cannon died at the scene. 

Troopers and detectives with the Louisiana State Police Sulphur Field Office have followed up on numerous leads since the crash, officials said. A potential vehicle and driver involved were identified, though further forensic analysis is pending.
