Crawfish prices dropped at the docks by 50 cents per pound, according to The Crawfish App.
“This mild weather kept the crawfish moving, eating, and growing in the ponds making them easier to catch,” Co-Founder of The Crawfish App Laney King said. “That increased supply pushed the price down a little more this week just in time for those of us who want to share Valentine’s dinner over a platter of boiled crawfish.”
The average price for boiled crawfish is $6.80 per pound this weekend, a 30-cent drop from last week.
The average price for live crawfish went down from $4.79 per pound to $4.29 per pound. King said you be able to find live crawfish for less than $4 per pound. A 35-pound sack of crawfish will cost you around $150.
If you would prefer to go to a restaurant for your crawfish, King said people can expect to pay around $7.99 per pound for a boiled crawfish platter. If you want to order them to go, you will likely be paying around $6.49 per pound.
