JSU’s football team honored at Mississippi State Capitol

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson State University (JSU) leaders, students and alumni were welcomed to the Mississippi State Capitol on Wednesday.

During JSU Day at the Capitol, the JSU football team was honored for their win during the 2024 Celebration Bowl.

“You give a lot of these young us young athletes growing up, you know, students growing up and letting them know that it’s okay to be a part of Jackson State, and we’re doing big things,” said TC Taylor, JSU’s head football coach.

JSU President Dr. Marcus Thompson spoke on the Senate floor on Wednesday. He said every dollar lawmakers appropriate towards the university helps further Jackson and Mississippi’s economy.
