GUILTY: Former Anson ISD janitor, youth sports photographer admits to using AI to superimpose students’ faces into porn

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A former Anson ISD janitor and youth sports photographer accused of using AI to superimpose students’ faces onto adult bodies to make pornographic videos has pleaded guilty.

Daril Gonzales pleaded guilty to Possession of Child Pornography and Possession of an Obscene Visual Representation of a Child in federal court Tuesday in connection to the allegations.

A press release from the United States Attorney’s Office reveals Gonzales, who in addition to his work at Anson ISD also took pictures of school sports and cheerleading events free of charge, “allegedly used artificial intelligence (AI) to superimpose the faces of pre-pubescent students onto the faces of adult subjects in sexually explicit videos or to attach AI-generated nude bodies to the faces of the girls.”

These victims report feeling “sick”, “gross”, “embarrassed”, “disgusted”,” scared”, and more after learning what Gonzales had been doing with their pictures.

The press release also states Gonzales admitted to viewing child pornography for up to 6 hours a day for at least the past 20 years.

Gonzales will receive his sentence from a judge in the near future. An exact sentencing date has not been determined.
