Cash prizes available at the City of Early’s trout event

EARLY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The City of Early is offering anglers cash prizes during its annual Catch and Win: Reel in Rewards contest.

There are 180 tagged winter trout fish in the Early Town Center Community Lake associated with prizes valued from $10-$50.

Participants who catch a tagged fish also have a chance at the grand prize – a fishing trip to the coast. Competitors can earn an additional entry into the grand prize drawing by sharing their catch on social media. To qualify, their profiles must be set to public so the City of Early can view the post, and they must tag both the Early Town Center and the businesses where they won their prize.

The event kicks on February 25, to participate, please text a picture of the fish along with its tag number to the Early Visitors & Events Center at (325) 430-1395. Additionally, let the city know whether you would like to keep the fish or release it back into the lake.

Prizes can be collected on Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., located at the Early Visitors & Events Center, 419 Garmon Drive.
