Cesar Josevan Espinosa Manso, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Hwy 153 near the intersection of CR 196 around 8:30 a.m, according to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Witnesses say the 18-wheeler was traveling north down the highway toward Sweetwater when it crashed into a dump truck that was crossing over at the CR 196 intersection.
Espinosa Manso was trapped inside his vehicle until he died from his injuries. The driver of the dump truck was not injured during the crash.
A family that was also traveling on Highway 153 told KTAB and KRBC it was so foggy, they crashed into the 18-wheeler as well because they couldn’t see it until it was too late. Everyone in their vehicle sustained minor injuries.
