On January 30, dispatch received a call reporting a shooting from the person who allegedly fired the shot. When deputies arrived at the scene in the southwest part of Throckmorton County, they found the victim, now identified as Shawn Hudson, deceased.
The Throckmorton County Sheriff’s Office did confirm Hudson and the alleged shooter were alone at the scene of the shooting when first responders arrived. No further information, including what Hudson and the suspect were doing prior to the shooting, has been made public at this time.
The Texas Rangers and the Throckmorton County Sheriff’s Office are leading the investigation. No charges have been filed at this time, and the case will be presented to a grand jury in July, according to Sheriff Glen Whitfield.
