Man shot, killed during apparent ambush in Yazoo City

YAZOO CITY, Miss. (WJTV) – Yazoo City police are investigating after a man was shot and killed during an apparent ambush.

The shooting occurred at the Yazoo Estates around 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 1.

Police said the victim, Andrew Jackson, was driving a truck that was also occupied by two passengers. According to investigators, two or three suspects fired shots at the truck as it entered the Yazoo Estates.

Jackson was shot twice and died from his injuries. No suspects are in custody as of Monday, February 3. Police are searching for two persons of interest in the case.
