Big Country volunteers fill 2 shipping containers with supplies for Zambia

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Big Country volunteers and nonprofit organizations rallied together to fill two 40-foot shipping containers with essential supplies heading to Zambia.

On Saturday, 50 Abilene Christian University students, 10 Cisco College students, and more than 20 volunteers worked together to load two 40-foot shipping containers with donations from local individuals, churches, and organizations. The Zambia Mission Fund, an Abilene-based nonprofit, shared a glimpse of what’s on its way to Zambia:

• MAGI boxes from Healing Hands International
• Medical supplies from Global Samaritan
• Pediatric wheelchairs and equipment from the Joseph Thomas Foundation
• Handmade blankets, quilts, dresses for little girls, and more sewn by talented seamstresses
• Clean Delivery Kits, Newborn Kits, and Feminine Hygiene Kits donated by churches and individuals across the U.S.
• Medicine for Namwianga Mission Hospital and the 2025 Zambia Medical Mission
• Supplies for The Haven Orphanage
• Clothing and equipment from Happy Feet and Scheels

“To everyone who donated, packed, and prayed over this mission — thank you. Your contributions will make a difference for countless lives in Zambia,” the non-profit shared online.
