Summary: A rowdy start to the morning for our heartland counties where we saw one severe storm overnight that brought up to quarter sized hail near DeLeon overnight Thursday morning. A squall like forming dumping a quick half an inch to an inch across the board. The Abilene regional airport picked up 0.06″ as of 6:30AM. While not what we had anticipated earlier this week, given the dynamics of the upper level low and storm track, we saw at least some areas see beneficial rain while most saw less than 0.50″. We are still expecting another brief, weak front on Friday to bring a chance for a few showers and a chance in wind direction Friday/ Temperatures remain above average throughout the rest of the forecast period with temperatures approaching the 80’s by the time we get to February. A weak front is expected to slightly bring cooler temperatures early next week but not for long.
Today: Partly sunny with skies clearing and breezy winds as temperatures climb above average. High Temperature: 66° Winds: WSW 5-25 MPH
Tonight: Clear, mild and breezy night. Low Temperature: 41° Winds: WSW 15-20 MPH
