Community Health System Office of Philanthropy announced a total of $30 million in donations to help with CRMC’s Bob Smittcamp Family Neuroscience Institute which is currently under construction.
Although CRMC already cares for patients with neurological issues, the new institute will allow physicians, neurologists, neurosurgeons, specialists and other experts to come together under one roof and collaborate on patient cases – right now, hospital officials say they are spread out throughout town.
The campus will offer specialized and innovative care in Alzheimer’s, concussions, dementia, epilepsy, headache/migraine, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s and strokes and will encompass over 60,000 square feet, including spaces for examinations, treatments, infusions, diagnostics, research, and neuro-rehabilitation.
The institute is expected to open in the summer of 2026.
