Abilene, Texas, received national recognition today during President Trump’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Infrastructure Announcement Press Conference, where Oracle Chairman and Chief Technology Officer Larry Ellison highlighted Abilene as part of Project Stargate. This $500 billion initiative, with $100 billion deployed immediately, will establish critical AI infrastructure across the United States, starting in Abilene, Texas.
Building on the foundation of the 2021 DCOA Project Lancium Clean Campus and recent DCOA Project Crusoe, in partnership with The DCOA, City of Abilene, Mayor Hurt, & Abilene City Council, and Taylor County Judge Phil Crowley & County Commissioners, this announcement underscores Abilene’s pivotal role in driving innovation and economic growth, further supported by Governor Abbott’s initiatives to grow technology in the state of Texas.
Misty Mayo, President and CEO of the DCOA, stated:
“Abilene has proven that bold vision and collaboration can transform our community into a leader on the global stage. Project Stargate underscores the success of our partnerships with Lancium and Crusoe, and we’re proud to be a cornerstone of this historic initiative. Together, we are shaping the future — creating extraordinary opportunities for Abilene and Texas.”
The DCOA remains committed to supporting initiatives that secure Abilene’s future as a hub for technological innovation and economic prosperity.
