The renovation comes as the MGM Grand prepares to open “a vibrant lineup” of new dining and entertainment experiences in 2025, the news release said. The room renovations are expected to be complete in December 2025.
The company said the project was coming during a July 31 conference call with investors. MGM Grand International is also expected to announce renovations at ARIA and Excalibur. MGM Chief Executive Officer Bill Hornbuckle said in July that furnishings from the MGM Grand would be used in the Excalibur remodel.
The first phase of the main tower’s newly remodeled rooms at MGM Grand will be available for reservations beginning March 1. A remodel of the 700-room Studio Tower was completed in 2022.
“MGM Grand has long been recognized as the center of entertainment and excitement in Las Vegas and these newly remodeled rooms, coupled with new attractions on the horizon, demonstrate our commitment to evolving the guest experience for both leisure and business travelers,” Mike Neubecker, MGM Grand president and COO, said Friday.
“These new rooms are a significant milestone in the property’s evolution as MGM Grand positions itself for the exciting developments set for the south end of the Strip,” Neubecker said.
The MGM Grand and the Excalibur, along with New York-New York Hotel & Casino — all MGM properties — will have a front-row seat as the Las Vegas A’s stadium is built at the corner of Tropicana Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard South. The stadium is expected to be open for the 2028 Major League Baseball season.

In addition to images of king and queen accommodations, the resort gave a glimpse of suites, too. The remodel will add 111 suites to the main tower for a total of 753, ranging from 675 to 2,572 square feet, according to the news release.
Gensler, a global architecture firm, came up with the designs along with MGM Resorts Design & Development staff.
“Original artwork will play an important role in the design, with each room and corridor featuring unique pieces that reflect the past, present and future of MGM Grand,” according to the news release. “Throughout the corridors, guests will be greeted by artwork that tells a story of exploration and self-discovery, including LED art pieces reminiscent of the vibrant disco era.”
Among the restaurants in the works is Netflix Bites, featuring cuisine inspired by hit Netflix shows. It is expected to open in early 2025. On this week, Tao Group and Kygo’s Palm Tree Crew announced the May 2025 launch of Palm Tree Beach Club Palm at the MGM Grand.
