Juan Ramon Rodriguez and Precillia Hope Mayorga were both taken into custody for Child Endangerment Thursday in connection to the allegations.
A press release from the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office states deputies initially contacted the suspects when they went to an apartment on West Lake Road Thursday to arrest Rodriguez on an outstanding robbery warrant from Dallas County.
Rodriguez arrived at the scene in a vehicle driven by Mayorga, which was also occupied by small children, according to the press release.
When Rodriguez was taken into custody, the press release states he was found to be in possession of over 100 fentanyl pills and a large around of cash.
The investigation into Rodriguez involved both the Sheriff’s Office and Child Protective Services because the allegations involved child endangerment.
“During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that illegal drugs had been sold in the presence of the small children,” the press release explains.
In addition to child endangerment, Rodriguez was charged with Manufacture/Delivery of Fentanyl, Possession of Mushrooms, Possession of Dangerous Drug, Possession of Marijuana, and Child Endangerment.
Rodriguez remains held in the Taylor County Jail on bonds totaling more than $80,000, and Mayorga is being held on a $7,500 bond.
