Rep. Arrington supports passage of bill banning transgender athletes from women’s sports

BIG COUNTRY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – U.S. Representative Jodey Arrington from Texas’s 19th congressional district supported a bill to ban transgender athletes from participating in women’s sports.

H.R. 28, also known as the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025, was passed by the House of Representatives on January 14, 2025.

Arrington stated that he is fighting to protect women’s sports with H.R. 28, a bill that, if passed, would ban ‘a person whose sex is male’ from participating in an athletic program designed for women. In the bill, ‘sex’ is defined as ‘solely on a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth.’

“Biden and the Left have turned Title IX against the women it was meant to protect,” said Chairman Arrington. “Our daughters should not be cheated out of their athletic opportunity by being forced to compete against biological men. This is not just wrong, it’s crazy!”

The House of Representatives approved H.R. 28, and it is now on its way to the Senate for consideration.
