ROTAN, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Rotan Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) is mourning the loss of one of its retired firefighters.
Fire Marshal Red Bennett served Rotan VFD for 40 years and was once named the Firefighter of the Year in 2013 before retiring in 2014.

Bennett died on January 8 at the age of 83. The fire department noted that he had risen through the ranks, with his steadfast bravery and dedication serving as a constant source of inspiration.
