According to the Clinica Sierra Vista officials, these rumors are unsupported. They say they have not received any credible reports to support claims of federal immigration agents’ presence at their facilities.
Officials say that, as a Federal Qualified Health Center, CSV must follow the rules set by the Health Resources and Services Administration, meaning they provide health care services to all individuals regardless of their immigration status.
“We understand the challenges and concerns our community faces during this time,” said Dr. Olga Meave, CEO of Clinica Sierra Vista. “Let me be clear — our facilities are safe spaces for everyone who needs care. We are here to support your health and well-being with compassion and respect, no matter your circumstances.”
Health officials say they strictly adhere to all laws protecting patient information and do not collect or record immigration status in their files. Patients concerned about coming to their clinics can take advantage of the clinic’s virtual and phone appointments to “ensure access to quality care from the comfort and safety of home.”
There are 12 Clinica Sierra Vista facilities in Fresno. For more information, visit the clinic’s website.
