Democratic State Rep. Perry Warren is ready to ensure that the insurance industry is effectively serving Pennsylvanians.

Immediately after his swearing-in to start his fifth term representing Bucks County’s 31st District, House Speaker Joanna McClinton appointed him chairman of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives Insurance Committee, which plays a key role in shaping the state’s insurance laws, ranging from consumer protections to industry regulations.

“Representative Warren has served as a valuable member of the Insurance Committee for several years, and as its new chairman he will bring his thoughtful and collaborative approach to advancing policies that best serve our neighbors and our communities,” said Speaker McClinton, who named Warren to Committee chair. “His experience and leadership make him well positioned for chairman of the House Insurance Committee.”

Warren looks forward to crafting meaningful and effective bipartisan reforms.

“I’m honored by the trust Speaker McClinton has placed in me to serve as chair of the Insurance Committee,” Warren said, whose District covers Lower Makefield, Newtown Borough, Newtown Township, Upper Makefield and Yardley. “With my background, I’m prepared to guide thoughtful, forward-thinking discussions on insurance policy, ensuring that all Pennsylvanians have access to affordable, reliable and high-quality insurance options. I look forward to working with all of my colleagues and with Governor Josh Shapiro and Insurance Commissioner Michael Humphreys to strengthen protections and drive meaningful reforms.”

Warren brings a wealth of experience to the position. In his time as a State House member, he has served as the chairman of the House Human Services Committee and as vice chair of the House Insurance Committee. He also has served on House Transportation, Commerce, Judiciary, Environmental Resources and Energy, Local Government and Government Oversight Committees. Before being elected to Harrisburg, Warren was a private practice attorney focusing on civil litigation and served on the Newtown Borough Council for seven years.
