Abilene man suing Expo Center after getting injured on slide ride

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – An Abilene man who was injured while going down a slide at the West Texas Fair and Rodeo has filed a lawsuit against the Expo Center.

Kyle Harless filed a lawsuit seeking monetary relief of $250,000 to $1,000,000 from the Taylor County Expo Center for an incident that happened in September 2022.

Court documents state Harless, “went down a large yellow slide and rode over two bumps on the slide, which caused his body to rise from the slide and crash back down at a high rate of speed.” This incident caused Harless to suffer undisclosed injuries.

The lawsuit alleges that the Expo Center was negligent and failed to make sure the premises were safe and also failed to warn visitors of the dangerous conditions caused by the slide.

Harless is scheduled to have a hearing on this lawsuit in court next week.
