Man in Abilene accused of crashing into multiple police cars and evading arrest

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A man in Abilene was accused of backing up into multiple police county vehicles during a traffic stop.

Troy Arthur Bonar has been charged with Evading Arrest and Detention and has two charges of Aggravated Assault.

According to police, around 8:00 p.m., a driver reversed into a county police vehicle and fled. The chase began in Taylor County and continued into Jones County, reaching speeds exceeding 50 mph.

Police put spikes at some point and ended the pursuit just northwest of FM 2404. Bonar was held in custody as the pursuit ended, and no injuries were reported.

Bonar was booked in the Taylor County Jail on December 27 and has a bond of $110,000.
