The following is a news release from the Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel.

FORT HALL – This holiday season, the Shoshone Bannock Casino Hotel reaffirmed its commitment to the Fort Hall community by organizing a series of charitable programs designed to support families and individuals in need.

Through the combined efforts of guests, local partners and staff, these initiatives delivered meaningful assistance and festive joy to many.

Soup for Tots competition

In November, the Casino Hotel hosted its 3rd annual Soup for Tots Competition, raising funds for the Toys for Tots Foundation. Donations of toys and winter clothing collected during the event were distributed through the local recreation program at its annual Santa Event, bringing smiles to children across the community.

Honoring veterans with meals

During our Annual Veterans Day Powwow, the Casino Hotel served meals to attending veterans, honoring their service and sacrifice. A community meal was also hosted during the event, fostering unity and gratitude among participants.

Player’s Club canned food promotion

Members of the Player’s Club joined a canned food drive, with all collected items donated to the Fort Hall food pantry. This initiative provided much-needed support to local families during the holiday season.

Holiday meals for the community

The Casino Hotel contributed pies and turkeys to the Church of the Good Shepherd for their holiday outreach programs. Additionally, turkeys and meals were delivered to the local elderly complex and members of the homeless community, ensuring they enjoyed warm, festive meals on Thanksgiving Day.

Supporting Chief Tahgee Elementary School

The Casino Hotel supported the Chief Tahgee Elementary School Christmas program by providing resources to create a memorable holiday celebration for students and their families.

Shoshone Bannock Tribes’ child support services participation

The Casino Hotel proudly collaborated with the Shoshone Bannock Tribes’ Child Support Services to support families in need. Departments across the Casino Hotel “adopted” families, and enthusiastically shopped for gifts to brighten someone else’s holiday season, in a manner like the Angel Tree initiative.

These impactful initiatives were made possible by the overwhelming generosity of guests and the support of local partners.

“We are deeply committed to our community and humbled by the opportunity to give back to those who need it most,” said Colista Matsaw, CEO of the Shoshone Bannock Casino Hotel. “The holiday season is a time to come together and support one another, and we’re grateful to everyone who made these initiatives a success.”

As the Casino Hotel looks ahead to the new year, it remains steadfast in its dedication to uplifting and supporting the Fort Hall community and beyond.

“Thank you to everyone who contributed to making a difference this holiday season,” Matsaw says.
