Jamal Baker was sentenced to 40 years for Aggravated Assault in connection to a stabbing at Flat Rock Park in May.
Police say first responders were dispatched to a disturbance a the park, and when they arrived, they found a female victim had been stabbed in her lower extremities.
A press release from the Brown County District Attorney’s Office says a knife blade broke off in her hip and Baker tried to stab a second victim after that.
“Baker was also charged with a felony offense for a separate incident in which Baker shot an
individual,” a press release explains. “During the punishment phase of the trial, the jury heard evidence of this shooting from 2022.”
For the shooting, Baker received 10 years in prison.
