IDAHO FALLS – Celebrate the holiday season with the fourth annual Supply and Toy Drive and Light Parade Saturday.
The parade route will begin at 5 p.m. at Teton Toyota, proceed down East Sunnyside Road and end at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, where all collected toys and supplies will be donated to the Ronald McDonald Family Room and Idaho Falls Rescue Mission.
Those who attend can enjoy hot chocolate, snacks, and a display of lighted vehicles. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there to greet guests, and FatBoy Burgers will be parked outside the Ronald McDonald Family Room serving hamburgers and fresh cut fries.
“We are thrilled to host the annual Supply and Toy Drive and Light Parade for the fourth year! We are fully supported through community donations, sponsorships, and volunteers and we are so grateful to live in a community that helps us serve families when they need us,” Deborah Chessey, Development and Community Manager for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho, says in a news release.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho is an Idaho-based nonprofit that supports families of ill or injured children by keeping them together in times of medical need. RMHC of Idaho provides families with a safe and secure place for healing filled with hope and comfort, while also investing and strengthening healthcare partnerships to meet families’ growing and changing needs.
Idaho Falls Rescue Mission has been serving the Idaho Falls area for 24 years. The Mission was started by a group of Christians with the purpose and desire to share God’s love with the community. The Mission is currently in the process of revamping and restructuring to meet the greater need of the Idaho Falls area.
“We are so fortunate to be a part of such a generous community. These gifts provide a little joy and love in the lives of children that are experiencing life in a way that no child should have to,” Chris Aspinall, Director of Development at Idaho Falls Rescue Mission, says.
Organizers are urging the community to attend and to spread holiday cheer by bringing light and joy to families in need.
