UPDATE: Surveillance still of suspect accused of shooting Abilene officer released
ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Police have released a surveillance still of a suspect who is on the run after allegedly shooting an Abilene police officer earlier this week.

James Wesley Key, 49, is still wanted for Aggravated Assault in connection to the shooting, which took place following a traffic stop in the impact area of Abilene Tuesday night.

Key fled the scene and a manhut has been underway since, with the assistance of several different agencies, as well as helicopters and drones.

The newly released surveillance still was taken at a store Key visited a few hours prior to the shooting and shows what he was wearing at the time of the altercation.

An anonymous donor is offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to Key’s capture.

Anyone who knows of Key’s whereabouts is asked to contact Abilene Crime Stoppers at (325)676-8477 or call 9-1-1 if he is encountered. Police say Key is armed and dangerous.
